Speech impairments are types of communication disorders wherein speech is difficult and/or disrupted. There are many kids of speech impairments: stuttering, dysprosody, speech sound disorders, voice disorders, dysarthria, speech apraxia and other lesser known ones. Using speech aids should ease the communication deficiency. One must identify the extent of speech impairment and choose a speech aid that caters to the communication problem.
